Programs

The Farnam Neighborhood House provides a continuum of programming, services and activities for youths ages 6 to 18 years that are designed to enhance their feelings of competence and self esteem. These programs provide basic skills for life, expand exposure to social, educational, recreational and cultural opportunities for youth to develop relationships with peers and adults, foster a sense of community and volunteerism and to develop leadership skills.

From Nurturing Young Children...

Nursery School

Farnam has operated the popular state licensed child day-care program since 1968.  The program provides a safe nurturing environment and a variety of creative learning experiences for children ages 3 to 5 that contribute to the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of the total child.  Recently the program has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (N.A.E.Y.C).  This solidifies our commitment to excellence in educating preschoolers.  The Nursery School operates Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 5:45pm.  Cost is $125 per week for each child.  We maintain small classes which allows our staff to create positive and long-lasting relationships.  This type of environment also allows your child to learn and succeed to their fullest potential.  Tuition subsidies are accepted and our program is funded by the New Haven School Readiness Program (Care 4 Kids).
